Something totally unrelated…

/me sagt schonmal Danke! :-)

Ekiga Videocall

Thanks at Niels, who pointed me to Ekiga after my last Videocast. Today I installed it and after re-emerging pwlib with the v4l and v4l2 use-flags I was able to set up my camera with Ekiga. I applied for a new SIP account at ekiga.net, because it was the easiest thing quickly, but soon I’ll try to use my default SIP account with it.

I was able to talk to my family having Gentoo Linux and Ekiga 2.0.9 at my side, and Windows Vista with Ekiga 2.0.11 Beta at the other. Cool!

Quickies

  • Screencapture via ffmpeg: ffmpeg -f x11grab -s 1280×1024 -b 1000 -i :0.0 /home/jan/Desktop/out.mpg (via TheGayBar)
  • When wondering about user rights and not being able to delete files take a look at the sticky bit, it might help
  • I’ve got a movie flatrate incl. 120 movies at Maxdome for free (through WEB.DE Club), but I can’t see them…
  • Last.FM listening to similar Artists is a cool feature!
  • Where do I go? What do I do? What kind of profile about /me is /me creating there? ;-)
